The results presented in Fig. 12 show that point B (T = 353K
and P = 29 MPa) provides the minimum column dimensions for
the separation of palmitic/(oleic + linoleic) acids in countercurrent
columns with SC-CO2 as the solvent and, hence, point B should be selected to carry out further extraction experiments. However, the
diagram in Fig. 13 shows that point A provides the optimum design
variables that minimize the column size.
