Pretreatment Time [s] is the duration at a soak potential, Pretreatment Potential [V].
After the pretreatment period, the scan will begin at the Initial Potential [V]. Often, the
Pretreatment Potential [V] and the Initial Potential [V] will be the same. The scan will
proceed to the First Vertex Potential [V] from the Initial Potential [V]. Vertexes
Potential [V] allows for the user to select any number of vertices and their respective
potential values. The first vertex potential is labeled “0” in the left box, and its
corresponding potential value is entered in the right box. The scan will proceed from the
Initial Potential [V] to the Vertex Potential [V] “0”. To create more vertices, change the
left box to “1” and select the potential value for this vertex. Create more vertices if
necessary. The Number of Periods is the number of times the scan from the Initial
Potential [V] to the First Vertex Potential [V] and back to the Initial Potential [V] is
repeated. Figures 17a through 17d show how to set the vertex potentials to the desired
