The other man sitting at the table looked over at his friend's words and much to his surprise, he saw a couple of unlikely faces. Through the door came the Jessica and Krystal, two icons of Korean entertainment. He was nearly beside himself with joy and it took all that it could to not smile like a maniac.
"Well, well, here are a couple of faces I've seen on television. Are you traveling somewhere?" He finally spoke.
"Ah yes, we're just going around places on our own."
"Here, have a seat." He pointed the two Jungs to the seats at the table before looking back to his friend.
"Go make some of your special tea."
"Sure thing." He said before exiting the room.
The two sisters took the man's offer and sat down at the table that he occupied. After setting down their things, Jessica took a look around the house. It was fairly normal in its decor, but it gave off a quite a homey feeling. From how the place looked, Jessica didn't feel nervous or worried that they were at a random person's house. She let her guard down for one second, and that was all the time that was needed.
A sudden clinking noise brought Jessica out of her wandering mind. It frightened her for a second and when she looked at what caused the sound, it was just the other man setting down the tea cups on the table.
"Here you go. It's quite hot, so be careful."
"Oh thank you." Jessica responded, grabbing a cup. She handed her younger sister the other while the man joined them at the table.
"So, what are the two famous Jung sisters doing out here?" He asked after joining them at the table.
"You know who we are?" Krystal responded.
"Why yes, I imagine most people in Korea know who you two are. This guy is a fan of yours, Jessica."
"Hmm yes, you're...quite beautiful in person."
"Oh, thank you!" She responded in the same manner whenever she was told that, respectful but with a hint of tiredness at replying to the same compliment incessantly.
The television was still on and Jessica caught sight of it, seeing the older Girls' Generation music videos being played. A hole opened in heart from seeing it and she immediately frowned at it. Though it stung her, she didn't want to be rude to ask them to change it.
"Do you feel betrayed?" The man interested in her asked.
"...I don't really want to talk about it."
"Right. Forget I asked."
"Look, you're making her uncomfortable...Jack."
"Your name is Jack?" Jessica asked.
"Jack? Hmm, yes, I suppose that is my name."
"Are you two brothers?" Krystal added.
"You can say that," the other began, "we do the same line of work so we became quite close."
"Ah I see...but excuse me, is your lip bleeding?"
Jack motioned around on his lip with his finger before catching a bid of red on it.
"No, it must have been the sauce from the spaghetti I was eating. I'm a messy eater, you see."
The two girls laughed and the four sat around the table drinking their tea and conversing while the storm brewed on outside. They made light conversation and the girls thought nothing of the situation they found themselves in. But slowly, they were falling into their trap.
"Do you like animals, Jessica? Cats in particular?" The unnamed man asked.
"Sure, cats are nice. Why?"
"It's just that you look like one to me." He responded sort of densely.
"D-Do I?"
"What a tasteless joke." Jack responded.
The other three laughed at Jack's remark. After noticing that Jessica and Krystal finished most of their tea, he took a glance at the clock. About ten minutes had passed and he looked back to the girls.
"Do you know what animal always escapes extinction, no matter the circumstances?" He suddenly asked.
"No...what is it?" An almost forced response by Jessica.
An otherwise light hearted conversation turned gloomy with Jack's most recent question. Although it was a bit out of place, Jessica didn't make much of it. She continued sipping on the remainder of the tea given to her while taking a quick glance over at Krystal. Jack smiled and she proceeded to look back at him.
