The intake of naringenin among the flavanones subgroups was significantly higher in the MetS group (LS mean; 1.872 mg/d) than in the non-MetS group (LS mean; 1.445 mg/d), but the intake of the other flavanone subgroups (hesperetin and eridictyol) was not significantly different between the two groups (Table 2). Dietary intake of antioxidative micronutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and β-carotene also did not differ between the two groups (data not shown).
