As observed in this research, the reduction in physical activity level occurred not only in the
level of exercise but also in daily activities, such as housework, childcare, transportation, and occupational
activities. Different authors have reported that women tend to replace moderate-intensity
activities with light-intensity or sedentary activities during pregnancy [10,19]. A systematic review
of articles published from 1986 to 2009 identified factors associated with greater participation in
exercise during pregnancy: higher education and income level, no other children in the home,
white, and activity before pregnancy. Notably, no articles reported on pregnant Brazilian women,
