The first test was conducted to determine the effects of
blade design, shear angle, and oblique angle on specific cutting
force and energy requirement per unit cut area. The second
test was conducted to study the relationship between the
rotational speed of the blade and the cutting torque requirement.
Physical properties of the empty fruit bunch related to
the development of a chopping machine were investigated.
With a view to evaluate the chopping process of EFB in a
palm oil mill, an attempt was also carried out to cut the EFB
using an experimental chopping machine.
