Spray application of aqueous vegetable oil emulsions
onto the cotton fabric gave a clear improvement in
the CRA. To demonstrate the anti-wrinkle effect, a
modified CRA test according to DIN 5389036 was
used to compare the recovery of untreated and treated
cotton fabrics after deformation. In the standard CRA
measurement, a piece of fabric was folded under reproducible
pressure and time (1 kg, 1 h), and the ability of
the fabric to resist this deformation – and then to
recover from it after the load was released – is generally
denoted as crease recovery.
