As suggested by the literature reviewed above, work stress may contribute to depression; additionally, individuals with higher resourcefulness are more capable of effectively using problem-solving abilities, controlling negative thoughts, and therefore had lower levels of depression. On the other hand, the connections between work stress and resourcefulness still remain unknown. Moreover, the relationships among work stress, resourcefulness, and depression level specifically in psychiatric nurses have not been simultaneously explored in previous studies. Hence, in this study, psychiatric nurses were recruited as subjects to investigate the correlations of work stress, resourcefulness, and depression level.
