The extracted dye was characterized by ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The photoelectrochemical properties (open circuit voltage (VOC),
short-circuit current density (JSC), fill factor (FF), and conversion efficiency (g%)) of the fabricated DSSCs using this extract as sensitizer were investigated. The incident photon to charge conversion efficiency (IPCE) measurement was performed to provide information about the efficiently of the fabricated cell in converting photons of a given wavelength into electrons. Furthermore, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) as a powerful technique was employed for investigating the photoelectrode
interface properties.
