BonChon Chicken is a solid place to grab some yummy Korean fried chicken!
The location is very nice, sporting a modern feel with large flat screen tvs on all four walls. The service is very friendly as well, being patient with orders and always coming around to refill water cups.
For appetizers, I tried the takoyaki here which was quite average. They top them with a lot of bonito flakes which I really like so that was a plus. The salmon avocado balls look a lot more interesting and sound very good so that might be a better choice to have. The bibimbap here is a definite treat! It was surprising one of the better bibimbaps I've ever had, potentially the best! The mix of the vegetables and bulgogi with the rice and sauce go together so well, and along the edges of the stone pot, there is a golden brown crisp layer of rice.
The chicken comes with some sides of which we got the kim chi and coleslaw. It also comes with the radish automatically. All three of those sides were very solid and as good as I would want them. My group of 4 ordered the 10 wings 5 drums combo with half soy garlic and half spicy. The chicken skin is fried to a nice thin crisp unlike any other I've had before. However, I found the chicken meat to be a bit dry and bland, especially on the drums. I would recommend going for all wings. The spicy is quite spicy and the soy garlic is very mild in flavor. I wish there was more variety in sauces, but even so, I wish the sauces were more distinct and added more flavor to the chicken.
Overall, I find BonChon Chicken to be a great restaurant and experience! I want to definitely come back with friends to try out some of the other dishes!
