This research aimed to study how to improve silk fabric to anti creasing. The researcher used Resin which was Epoxy and Glyoxal to occur crosslinking with fibers which were Protein.
Padding epoxy concentration of 0.82 M, catalyst(sodiumthiosulfate) and controls the pH of no less than 12.4 padded 24 hours and dried at 100 ° C for 36 minutes is the best condition
Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FT-IR) analysis indicated the crosslinking reaction between the Nitrogen of amino group in the silk fabric and Carbon of resin , which have not appeared yet. In addition, Scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation showed that the surface of the silk are resin coated on a rough surface. Which Showed clearly that occurred the crosslinking.
