One last thing people can do is to leave their room. You should go out for a walk or shop at places nearby, such as shopping malls, parks or restaurants. Furthermore, you possibly need to do some outside activities such as bicycling, swimming, sunbathe or playing football with friends. Activities may help you forget about missing your family back at home. As suggested by Southwick (2014), “Make a list of these places or activities and challenge yourself to do/see all of them before you leave. This will give you something fun to do and keep you focused on the next adventure where you are, instead of dwelling on what's happening at home”. Therefore people that are homesick should see the main tourist sites of wherever they are and go to a coffee house or a bar. They probably shouldn’t sit at home on their laptop worrying about friends and family back at home. If you keep busy you'll soon find out that homesickness will be the last thing you're thinking about.
