Limitations
The limitations of the experiment were that it didn't prove that the note-taking outside of class improved the students' grammar skills over another method of learning grammar. I am still not convinced that this method is the answer all grammar teachers have waited for. I still felt a disconnect existed between the notes the students were
taking and the applications. Often times, what we were discussing in our grammar lessons never made it into the essays. There also seemed to be a disconnect between the grammar skills and the writing. As the survey suggests, I wasn't able to help students see the value of grammar in their lives. If I can't do that then the students still have a
disconnect. As the research suggests, there has to be a connection in order for the application to be successful.
