L.pentosus strain LPS16 was isolated from traditional salted
bamboo sprouts and provided by Synbiotech Inc.
(Kaohsiung, Taiwan). Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC55730 was
used as a control strain. These strains were cultured in MRS
broth (Becton, Dickinson and Company, Sparks, MD, USA)
