The first concert (active concert)
Now is the time for me to read the text in English and the students should follow along my voice. I matched my voice to the rhythm and intonation of the music being played. I demonstrated the story through sequence of sounds and gestures. This first concert applied two planes of learning; conscious plane, the students attends to the language; on the subconscious plane, the music suggests that learning is easy and pleasant. When there is unity of between those two planes, the learning is enhanced (Larsen-Freeman 2000).This learning process involved the emotion of the students. Schunk (2012: 61) argues that emotional interest should rise when teachers get students involved in the learning. Demonstration is likely to instigate greater motivation and emotion and lead to better learning. While demonstrating the text through gesture and mimic, my students connected their knowledge about what they had seen in the film and my presentation. This affected their understanding about the English text.
