although, the white board featured very strongly in the non-SAIL classroom, more non-SAIL students drew their teacher among the students than being in front of the class. more non-SAIL than SAIL students drew their teachers bigger than the students, suggesting that the teacher was regarded as a prominent figure in the classroom. this was in contrast to the drawings by students in SAIL lessons. this could reflect the SAIL approach where the SAIL tasks and its accompanying pedagogy were designed to provide opportunities for more dynamic classroom talk among students and between students and teacher.
