Liquid extract
The liquid extract exiting the extraction cells generally have very low microbiological load (continued) due to the high extraction temperatures of 170°C to 184°C. The initial extract leaving the cold cell is between 90°C and 115°C. Due to the addition of green coffee directly into the extraction cells for Green Blend or Protect blend, a Stripping column must be located after Extraction step to ensure a critical limit of 90°C for 0.5 seconds is attained.
