Applicants must have completed a master of commerce with honours (first class or second class first division), or an approved equivalent from some other recognised university. Applicants with BCom (Hons) first class honours from The University of Auckland may also qualify. The MBA is generally not sufficient unless substantial research has been undertaken. Applicants must also fulfill any one of the following English language requirements: overall IELTS (academic) score of 6.5 and all bands 6.0 or better; overall internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score of 90 plus a writing score of 21; overall paper-based TOEFL score of 575 plus essay (TWE) of 4.5; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 58 or higher, no individual language skill below borderline; Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE) score of 45 or higher; Pearson Test of English (PTE) academic overall score of 65 and no PTE communicative skills score below 58; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 85.
