The dominant V allele produces long wings whereas the recessive V allele produces vestigial or short, misshapen wings. A test cross between a Bbvv(brown body with long wings) phenotype and a bbvv(black body with vestigial wings) phenotype does not produce the 1:1:1:1 phenotypic radio expected with independent assortment. Instead, the offspring will present a 5:1:1:5 ratio where 5 have brown body with long wings, 1 has brown body with vestigial wings, 1 has black body with long wings and 5 have black body with vestigial wings.
