P1 In today's modern world, computers are an essential part of everyday life. Around the globe, children often use computers from a very young age. Although it is important for children to participate in various well-balanced activities, children who use the computer daily are actually developing skills for future success. The reasons why these children would become successful adults are personal, academic, and professional. P2 From a personal point of view, computers are an invaluable resource to help young people explore the world around them. For example, children who use Internet to satisfy their curiosity about diverse topics can learn a lot about the world. They can learn school subjects like math, science and a foreign language. Not only school subjects are available for them to learn online, they can also learn how to cook different kinds of foods, take pictures, and learn foreign cultures. P3 From an academic viewpoint, computers are necessary tools to help students study in school. For instance, students brought their laptops to school to help them study. They use them to take notes, do research and exchange information. They wrote assignments, created presentations and developed databases. Children who build early confidence and experience in these abilities are at a distinct advantage over those who have not. P4 From a professional perspective, the computer has found a permanent place in the workplace. Corporations nowadays expect prospective job applicants to already possess computer skills. Most companies require their employees to have some Microsoft Office skills. Consequently, parents who encourage their child to use the computer for a reasonable period of time daily are in fact investing in the child's future career. P5 In conclusion, there is no doubt that the computer as a technological tool is here to stay. The sooner children become computer-literate, the better for many aspects of their future lives.
