The accreditation system has been implemented in
most hospitals in Taiwan, although some variations
may exist owing to hospital-specific concerns. The
application, approval and reviewing processes also vary
among hospitals. Because the system evaluates nursing
capabilities such as skills, knowledge and analytical
techniques, the nurse accreditation level for an individual
nurse may be a predictor for care outcomes.
Thus, the nursing accreditation level for an individual
nurse may predict patient safety.
