Among those municipalities that have completed at least one strategic plan, more than four - fifths are very satisfied (33 percent) or satisfied (52 Percent) with its implementation and goal achievement. A remarkable 93 percent of administrators in these cities state that strategic planning is worth the time and expense that it entails (only 2 percent say that it is not). Almost nine out of ten local administrators say that completing the strategic plan has been beneficial or very beneficial in terms of focusing the city council’s agenda on important issues, and providing their communities with “a genuine sense of mission.”
