DEFINITION:
What is personal information about?
Some information about a person’s name, address, phone number,professions/ jobs, date of birth, country of origin etc. It’s an identity of a male or female member as a part of society.
Our lesson today is to learn how to ask or questions someone/ a person who you want to know and it’s usually someone you just met or knew. This normally happens in the first meeting. We can call this situation ‘getting to know’.

When you are in your friends birthday party you meet some new friends and you want to know their names and more about them.

2. What school do you go?
3. What grade are you now?
4. How old are you?
5. Where do you live?

1. What’s your name? My name is Anto, or I’m Anto.
2. What school do you go? I go to Guna Bangsa National school.
3. What grade are you now? I’m in the fifth grade, or I’m a fifth grader.
4. How old are you? I’m 16 (eleven) years old, or I’m 16.
5. Where do you live? I live in Kelapa Gading or I live on Anggrek street Block H5.
6. What’s your phone number? My number is 9973580, or It’s 9973580.
7. Where are you from? (Where do you come from?) I’m from West Sumatra (I come from West Sumatra)
8. What’s your hobby? My hobby is playing football, or It’s playing football

Students at Jakarta International School are chatting in the school canteen.
Fred: “Hi, I’m Fred. What’s your name?”
Chris: “Hello, I’m Chris….nice to meet you.”
Fred: “Nice to meet you, too. Are you new here?”
Chris: ”Yes, I just arrived a week ago, with my parents.”
Fred: “Where are you from?”
Chris: “Oh I’m from Perth, Australia. How about you?”
Fred: “I’m from the UK.”
Chris: “What city are you from?”
Fred: “I’m from Manchester…hey Chris are you in sixth grade?”
Chris: “No, I’m a fifth grader. I’m turning 11 y.o this October. How old are you?”
Fred: “I’m 13 y.o…I’m a junior high student. I study in that building
(pointing at one of the buildings in the school area). By the way Where do you live in Jakarta?”
Chris: “I live in an apartment in Kebayoran Baru. It’s in South Jakarta.”
Fred: “Really? I live on Wijaya street; it’s in South Jakarta too. Can I have your number? What’s your phone number?”
Chris: “Yeah, sure…here’s my number 987345”
