This research aims to assess the students’ ability to recognize English homophones. The researcher assumed that student often confuses listening and reading English Homophones. So, the researcher decided to study on this topic. The samples were EIC Students of 1-4 year totally 40 students at Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna Tak. Instrument in this research, a test of about ability listening and reading recognizes homophone was designed. Ten sets of homophones were randomly selected. In each set, there were 2 items with 2 options. If a word was homophones correctly, 1 score was given. If a word was homophones wrongly, 0 score was given. Then, the scores of all the students were calculated to find the mean. The criterion for score interpretation was at 50%. If the average score was higher than 50%, it was interpreted that the students possessed the ability listening to recognizing homophones. However, if the average score was less than 50%, it was interpreted that the students had difficulty in listening to recognizing the homophones. So, the research results found that students in 4 levels of study have the average score was higher than 72%, it was interpreted that the students possessed the ability listening to recognizing homophones.
