The number of addicted players continues to grow as gaming gains more influence. If
computer game addiction is a serious disorder, then it should be entered into the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders V (DSM-V). With its inclusion, there will be credence to
its validity, and therapeutic programs can be created to find and treat those with serious computer
game addiction. More research will become focused on this phenomenon, as there is little
attention on this subject. Also, perhaps computer game companies will take up social
responsibility and decrease factors that target potential computer game addicts.
