Understand the below - Knueng please clearly communicate to subcons
Obviously I think everyone can understand the gross consequences of out of temp trucks and potential rejects of full loads
However since Makro have focused on high quality claim issue, we have seen overall claims levels maintained, however reason of claims move to "other" or "transport damage"
For transport damage we have had communications from our subcons that they are now very concerned with the change in store behavior.
Subcons have instances where they are now being claimed quality damage where product varies by 0.5degree to 0-4 degree on the data logger but the product quality is obviously more severely damaged than this from the way the supplier delivered in the first place
I think the Makro team should provide some standards that they expect with clear tolerances for the subcons
The subcons should then all sign up and agree to this before any change in claims
Process is
Changed
I fear that the target to reduce quality could mean shifting claims reasons, and potentially some of the subcons start to find this difficult
We all need to ensure the outcome of this project is to reduce the amount of poor quality produce that the suppliers are allowed to deliver into the DC - not pass the cost of poor produce onto other parties
Your thoughts would be appreciated
