The SQI has the advantage of providing a relative
sensory quality level, although it is not easy to understand the level
of each SQI score. However, if a reference guide is used as a preference
(%), communicating the SQI can be easier and clearer. Furthermore,
the SQI compensates for the disadvantage of preference (%)
with a ‘‘no preference’’ option by allowing consumers to use the
same scores for the choices.
