Figure 9 show effect of substrate and substrate color. As you can see substrates that is slightly color such as filter paper, cream leather, and white cotton are exhibited high correlation with the magenta value and highly similar color change patterns while bloodstain on blue denim, clear glass, and gray gypsum board had poor correlation the magenta value with time since deposition. Because blue color of denim is interfered with the magenta is color of bloodstain. For glass, Glass did not absorb blood same other substrate so therefor the stain the stains to varying thickness which interfered color measurement process. Last one for Gypsum’s gray color also interfered with the color measurement process. In addition in the first hour after deposition, bloodstains were not absorbed into the gypsum thus it non-uniformity in thickness affected the color change process.
