Three Golden Apples
Once up on a time there was a king who had a very beautiful daughter with great intelligence. She was very talented princess but she never wanted to get married. She set a challenge that if anyone wanted to marry her, he should compete with her by racing. If she lost she would get married. If he lost he would be killed.
Many of the princes tried to win the race but failed. Who ever tried to defeat her lost badly and got killed. The king became very worried. Then a prince appeared who was very handsome and religious. When he heard about the challenge he prayed to his gods for help.
His god blessed him with three golden apples and told him to throw them in front of the princress while racing. The prince came forward to the king and accepted the the challenge of the princess.
The day came and the crowd was ready to see the race. The race started and the princess was overtaking the prince. The prince threw the 1st golden apple in front of the princess and she stopped running to collect the apple. Again she started running and was overtaking the prince and he applied the same trick by throwing the 2nd golden apple and she stopped again for a while. And the prince got a chance to go further.
The racing track was almost at the end and the princess almost reached the finishing line, but when the prince threw the 3rd golden apple towards her, The princess stopped running to collect the golden apple.
The prince ran as fast as he could.
He reached the finishing line before the princess.
The king was overjoyed.
The crowd shouted happily “Princess lost the race” and clapped their hands.
After that the princess smiled and accept the defeat.
They got married and lived happily ever after.
