CSA proponents are likely to agree that it extends well beyond growing great
organic produce and dividing the bounty equally among members as it nurtures a
cooperative community spirit and fosters a deep sense of respect for the Earth (Cicero,
1993). CSA embodies an ethic or understanding that farming is the lifeblood of
communities that directly effects people’s sense of interaction with each other, their
appreciation for nature, their physical and spiritual well-being, and their lifestyles.
