Specimen storage. Typically, live specimens were placed in at least 15 volume equivalents of 100% ethanol and stored at 285 uC. Sometimes, reaching a tem- perature of 285 uC took several weeks, in which case temporary storage at
220 uC or 0 uC proved satisfactory. For smaller specimens, storage in 100% ethanol at room temperature (,22 uC) was satisfactory, even for as long as one year.
