Robert Lee Frost was born on March 26, 1874, in San Francisco, California. Frost was an American poet, but his work was first published in England. He is regarded for his realistic portrayals of country life and for his command of colloquial American speech.
Frost became interested in reading and writing poetry when he was a teenager. After high school, he enrolled at Dartmouth College and, eventually, Harvard University in Boston, but he never earned a degree.
