The multiplied shoots with tubers of E. nuda were rooted by two
methods as follows:In vitro root induction: The in vitro produced
shoots (5–7 cm in length) were excised after four week cultures
from multiplication medium (MS medium with 8.88 M BA and
4.64 M Kn). For in vitro rooting, the excised shoots were transferred
to PGR-free full, half, three-forth or one-fourth strength of
MS medium (agar solidified, 0.8%) supplemented with 200.0 mg l
−1
activated charcoal (AC). Cultures were kept in the dark initially
for 2 days and then transferred at 20–25 mol m−2 s−1 PPF provided
by cool white fluorescent lamps (Philips, India) for 12 h d−1
