- Communication is not essentially a religious subject and we must extract its definition from the human knowledge. When this definition is placed in Islamic environment, it will become exposed to some alterations. A basic and critical point considerable in the Islamic thought and culture is that Islam is essentially a communicative subject; in other words it is essentially a message descended from God to the human kind and anyone who accepted this message will become responsible to transfer it to others. Of course it is not confined to Islam and every religion is the same. Some people divide religion into two categories: propagandistic and non-propagandistic religions. For example in Judaism the concept of expansion and propaganda is not as prominent as it is in Christianity or Islam. But we do not hold with this aspect, because we believe that religion is a messenger per se. If Judaism has been exposed to distortion and has lost its communicative efficiency or if Christianity has become a context for colonization, these are other issues irrelevant to our discussion. But in Islam more attention has been given to the essence.
