A master plan for a one hundred and ninety-eight acre horse farm outside of Warrenton, Virgnia. The master plan defined suitable areas of the property for future fields and farm buildings, as well as outlining an expanded and re-worked road network. In addition to developing the master plan, a new entry gate and plantings were designed including reforestation plantings, and on-site direction was provided on new driveway routing and the installation of plantings but elegant infrastructure complements ecologically responsive, tidy layout. At all of our family farms, we restore structures whenever possible and construct others using vernacular styles and local materials. Creating consistent architecture lends a unified image for the farm. We aim for our farms to set a standard for farm architecture, and have seen how these farms inspire others to consider aesthetics as a central criterion in farming.
