Well they are exaggerated. Don't get me wrong here. I like this box. However if you are vaping a low ohm coil - below 1.5 ohm - you will not get 160 watts. The mod gets too hot and you get shut off after about three puffs. I found it vapes true up to about 100 watts though and i don't vape a dual 18650 higher than that anyway. In fact the safety feature is good because it protects those crazy new vapers, lol.
The chip set is proprietary. It is Hugo's own. First - I don't really vape much in TC but I do like TC for SS on my RDAs. That happens to be good becuase this mod is so so for TC in NI. I never tried TI. In SS though it is perfect. Did not get dry hits off my RDA at all and it saves my cotton 'bacon'. Ok - excuse the pun. The menu system is easy to use and has options. You can even vape in mech mode. If you click three times and go to TC and hold all the buttons down you can get to TCR and customize. That might resolve the NI TC issue I had but I never really bothered to figure it out as I like SS more anyway.
The buttons are a little soft and they are plastic material. But they work just fine. I have to fire hitting the center but thumb press works great. The battery door is good although the magnets are a bit weak. Still never popped of and never rattles. In fact nothing rattles. The mod is solid.
Looks are IMHO among the best of my mods. Centered 510 and my 24 mm attys fit perfectly. It is small enough too. I heard the paint scratches but on my black it is holding up nicely. The mod is pleasing.
Now there is NO USB port. That means no upgrades. This is a pity but it is already a 160 watt with TCR on two 18650s. You really do not want to upgrade that.
Pros
- nice looking
- fairly compact
- centered 510
- no rattle
- great TC in SS
Cons
- seems a bit underpowered. I need to vape at higher watts to get the same kick as some of my other mods
- shuts off if you go to low a build and try to vape it at very high watts ( could also be a pro)
- buttons a bit finicky and soft.
- poor NI TC but you can set it in TCR.
- not upgradeable
Is iot worth the cost and would I purchase it again if I drooped it or lost it? I think this is one of the better buys on the market. Despite its cons it works just perfectly for my needs. And that folks is really the issue. Does you vaporizer or atomizer fit your needs? That is the only valid criteria. It fits mine.
