Q: Does VCS / ApplicationHA support SAP HANA
SAP HANA has high-availability features built in. In a multi-node deployment SAP HANA's native high availability features cover node failures within an SAP HANA system. There is no need to provide VCS clustering for such a setup.
However, there are scenarios where the use of VCS or ApplicationHA does make sense, e.g. to support automated site failover in a disaster recovery setup, or to protect virtualized single-node SAP HANA deployments on VMware (currently the only supported virtualization solution for SAP HANA).
We are in the process of creating an availability offering for SAP HANA:
The first step has been an ApplicationHA agent for SAP HANA single-host deployments on VMware, which has been released with the 3Q2014 AgentPack release.
A VCS agent for single-node SAP HANA replicated with SAP HANA System Replication has been released with the 4Q2014 AgentPack.
Next planned steps in this direction will be adding support for scale-out deployments of SAP HANA
