New iPhones, a refreshed Apple TV, a bigger iPad and more
Apple’s San Francisco event Wednesday left the company’s legions of fans with plenty to get excited about: New iPhones, a new Apple TV, a bigger and better iPad, and more.
As mid-cycle models, the new iPhones — designated the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus — are not as groundbreaking as, say, the iPhone 6 was compared to earlier designs. But they do include some new features, including a pressure-sensitive screen that can tell the difference between a gentle tap and a hard press, allowing software to react accordingly. A new Harry Potter-style “Live Photo” feature that brings unexpected life to still photos is another standout. The new iPhones will be available for pre-order Sept. 12 starting at $199.
