Silent Recitation refers to praying in the mind by silent reciting with the word such as ”Bud-dho“ ”Bud-dho“ ”Bud-dho“ or “Arahanta” “Arahanta” “Arahanta” , etc. which there is no restriction to the word of prayer. Silent Recitation is very important in meditation practice because this is a key to acquire the meditative state. However, Silent Recitation is merely the beginning of the meditation procedure. Silent Recitation of Bud-dho, Bud-dho, Bud-dho, is needed every time when conducting meditation; otherwise our mind cannot get into the meditative state. Silent Recitation is comparable to the key for entrance to the house. Forgetting the key, you cannot enter into your house. Forgetting the Silent Recitation, you cannot get into the meditative state. Repeat of the Silent Recitation for several times, skill will automatically develop. Skill is an important assurance for successful practicing of meditation. Similarly, for every kinds of work, lacking of skill will lead to unsuccessful outcome; driving a car without skill can cause severe accident while the skillful driver drives smoothly. But skills take time to develop. Hence, Silent Recitation of, Bud-dho, Bud-dho, Bud-dho, which the meditator recites all along is utmost meaningful.
