This paper will analyze the effect of requirements analysis on quality planning, project success,
and product success. This will be accomplished with a literature review of current practices and
compare them with recommendations for 'best
practices' in requirements analysis, quality
management, project management and product management. In addition, an informal
questionnaire ofsoftware professionals about projects they recently worked on will be used to
collect some data, and to elicit case studies ofsuccessful and unsuccessful software projects.
