Testosterone, nandrolone, and oxymetholone were
the most commonly consumed AASs during the last cycle
and an average of 2-3 AASs were used during each cycle
(“stacking”). Participants completed an Aggression Rating
Scale to assess current feelings of anger and hostility and
were presented with a modified Stroop Color Word Conflict
Task containing sets of neutral (e.g., shelves, broom),
verbally aggressive (e.g., hostile, ridicule), and physically
aggressive (e.g., attack, violence) words. Current AAS users
rated themselves more impatient (p< 0.10) and belligerent
(p< 0.10) than past users and took longer than past users and
nonusers to name the colors of all word sets, but there were
no significant differences between word sets
