Not only can residents complete the Census online, but also Field Staff will use the internet to undertake training and record their work online. Field Officers' main responsibility in areas where the traditional paper form approach will be used, is to attempt to make contact with households when dropping off the Census form and to encourage online participation. Field Officers will also make further visits to households that have not participated online or returned a paper form.EligibilityTo be eligible for non-ongoing employment, there are a number of requirements that you must meet:Australian Citizenship - To be eligible for employment, applicants must hold Australian Citizenship or have the legal right to work in Australia. Documentation supporting your Citizenship or right to work in Australia will be required to be presented and established at interview.Pre-employment Check - The ABS will undertake a Health and Character check prior to the offer of any employment to ensure you are of sound character and of a suitable level of fitness to be able to perform the duties of the role you are being considered for. This may involve;- Completing an online Medical Self-assessment;- Confirming the details given in your employment application (including employment history, employment references, educational qualifications, and professional memberships);- Completing an application to be lodged with the Australian Federal Police for a National Police Check.Selection processRefer to the attached Applicant Information Kit in relation to the selection process and key dates.
