decision tree model, education, marital status, employment and smoking status are the remaining variables among the five most important variables. While the order of importance changes, four of the most important five variables are the same in both models. Similarly, while the order of importance varies, the same six variables were found to be the least important in both models. The least important variables in the ANN model were need for special equipment, veteran status, activity limitations, heavy-drinking risk, physical health, and body mass index. Need for special equipment, activity limitations, veteran status, heavy- drinking risk, body mass index, and physical health were least important in the decision tree model as well.
