Although overall decolourization of thewastewater
was due to action of both the enzymes, superior decolourization
efficiencies were obtained particularly at very high MnP activities.
Moreover, MnP activities were always higher than LiP in the system
thus indicating a major role of MnP over LiP in the decolourization
process. For instance, maximum MnP activity of 2091.66 U/l was
found when wastewater was mixed with media containing 5 g/l
glucose, which conferred a decolourization efficiency of more than
80%. Compared with this result, when media containing 10 g/l
glucose was used, although the decolourization efficiency was
slightly higher, MnP activity was less probably due to nonavailability
of the enzyme from the attached biomass for enzyme
assay in the study
