Little Happens Without Motivation
When a person is motivated to make a behavior change, he or she will work to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make that change, and will create the opportunity to make it possible. If a person is not motivated to change, all the knowledge and skills in the world will still not cause change. For example, testing of the Theory of Planned Behavior developed by Fishbien and Aizen has shown that attitudes and norms have little effect on behavior unless a person has intentions to change.
