7. The red section of the clock represents the hot part rising toward the sky. The gases that move away from the earth cools and changes to blue, the color or ice and come back to earth. The cooled gases helped to cool the earth through a process which is sometimes called the “cosmic dance”. The cosmic dance phenomena happened for many years until the earth became cooler and cooler on the surface. The outside surface of the earth hardened and formed the crust. The crust covers the hotter part of the earth inside, like a fire inside a box. This fire doesn’t want to be kept under the surface- remember Experiment 19? When we talked about how gases take up much more space than liquids or solids? The fire underneath always try to find a way to get out, and when the do we get volcanic eruptions. The hot air pushed up the crust until it explodes.
