Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) spectrum of nanosilica is presented in Figure 2. A large broad band
at 3440 cm-1 is assigned to the presence of the OH stretching frequency of silanol groups10. A strong intense
band at 1100 cm-1 is associated to the siloxane Si-O-Si vibration of the molecules. Amorphous silica exhibits a
relatively strong peak around at 804 cm-1. The peak at 475 cm-1 is due to Si-O bending mode of vibration.
