Death has come and has kissed me sweet
upon my lips and my soul doth he greet
for life is laid waste my strength is now spent
and I weep for loss with these tears of lament.
Time was once such a long welcomed friend
a lover eternal embraced without end
but day after day of my soul has it ate
so now in old age it is death I await.
Alone was I born and alone will I die
for life becomes wordless my end a sigh
All i have known they too have all gone
so now at the end it is death that does mourn.
