And surely we have far more laboursaving devices that a few years ago (who needs an electric toothbrush?) and we use motorised transport far more than we need. Yet, at the same time, local planning officers are attempting to integrate more cycle paths into our communities, reduce private car use, and increase public transport. Although these are often for environmental and life quality reasons, rather than to increase physical activity per se, they are a move in the right direction and suggest that interagency collaboration is both possible and desirable.
