Islam is the religion of character, this means it copes with the sound nature of
human beings and treats them according to the nature and axioms in which
God created them. Verse 30 of the Surah of Al-Rum says: "So set thou they
face, steadily and truly to the faith. (Establish) Allah's handiwork according to
the pattern on which he has made mankind. No change (let there be) in the
work (wrought) by Allah: that is the standard religion. But most among
mankind understand not."
Human beings are living creatures with feelings, desires and trends that are
known by God the Creator who instilled in them their nature and instincts.
Verse 14 of Surah Al-Mulk ‘The Dominion’ says: "Should he not know – he
that created? And he is the one that understands the first mysteries (and) is
well-acquainted (with them).” God the Creator better understands what
regulates the life of human beings and their relationship with other people.
God also knows what is best for human beings during their lifetime.
It is worthwhile to mention the fact that Islam perceives a human being as a
mass of feelings. His or her nature then dictates that she or he may hate and
get angry. Human beings are pleased if something good happens to them
while they are dissatisfied with a misfortune.
People like prestige and good social status, as well as to live in peace and
security. Peace is one of the basic requirements and ultimate goal for people
on this earth. Therefore, loving peace, good will and security is an innate
character of a human being.
Peace constitutes one of the main pillars on which Islam is based; it calls for
peace, security, justice and equality among people
